Don't Call Me Ma'am, Seattle, WA

I have been lucky to work with some incredible women with incredible businesses in the Seattle area.  This lovely event, The Naked Party was thrown by the innovative ladies at Revel Creative Marketing & PR for the new skincare line, Don't Call Me Ma'am at Northwest Cellars.

90% of the beautiful women in attendance bravely showed up with no makeup, just their stunning, natural, naked faces.  It was my honor to capture such a fun and inspiring evening.  These are my personal favorites from the event, though many more are hosted in the OFFICIAL GALLERY HERE.

I love Don't Call Me Ma'am's manifesto, which you can find on their website, here.  It says:

------------------------------------

TIME IS PRECIOUS, AND I WILL NOT WASTE IT.

There are too many mountains to climb, places to see and people to enjoy

for me to spend even a second worrying about getting older.

Age is nothing but a number – it does not determine how I feel, how I live or how I love.

Am I 30 or 60? 50 or 40? 99 or 19?

Guess if you’d like. The only clue I’m going to give you is this:

WHEN PEOPLE CALL ME MAʼAM, I LOOK OVER MY SHOULDER TO SEE WHO THEY MIGHT BE TALKING TO.

I won’t tell you my age… but I will tell you my secret:

I am as young as I believe myself to be.

WHEN I LOOK AT MY FACE, WHAT DO I SEE?

This is Beauty, with a capital B. This is Wisdom. This is Experience.

This is Striking, Surprising and Sexy. This is Getting Ready To Rumble.

So don’t call me ma’am,

BUT DO CALL ME A TAXI—MY NEXT MOUNTAIN IS WAITING TO BE CLIMBED.

Wow, right?  I love that.  Thanks for stopping by!

Rachel & Bryan's Perfect Summer Wedding - Seattle, WA

Rachel and Bryan. These sweethearts got married on a perfect summer day in the lovely St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Seattle's Queen Anne neighborhood and celebrated with their families at the Golden Gardens Park Bathhouse in Ballard.

Rachel is my cousin; my gorgeous, graceful, kind-hearted cousin.  She met Bryan at a summer camp in Eastern Washington years ago and he is one of the nicest guys I've met.  Together, they are sweet and romantic and their day reflected that.  I'm lucky to have been a part of their wedding and I am lucky to call them family.

Angie & Reed's Wedding, Afton, MN

Reed
a man who dresses with precision
a staunch minimalist
a talented graphic designer
a lover simplicity and forthright observation

Angie
a bunny lover to end all bunny lovers
a maker of elaborate crafts
a modern Betty Crocker - no really
a believer in nostalgia and in bringing people pies

What happens when these two fall madly in love and get married?  This delightful "hipster-pinterest" wedding, that's what!

It was a grand event, meticulously planned, in which SO many people gifted the bride and groom with their time and talent.  Everything came together seamlessly.  There were a shocking number of flowers.  There were punch bowls of craft cocktails.  Chalkboard signs handwritten by the groom himself.  A peanut butter and jelly bar.  Walls of polaroids.  So. Many. Pies.  There were more hand crafted details than can be put in a blog post.  It rained - a lot - which was actually perfect.  The vows were touching.  And the dance floor was packed until the very, very end of the night.  I'm pretty sure it was the Best Wedding Ever.

When we first sat down to talk about their wedding photos, these cute nerds had a conflict.  According to Angie, all photos need to be portrait orientation so that they will look amazing on Pinterest.  According to Reed, the photos should be landscape because they work better that way on websites.  Which is the most adorable argument I've ever heard of.  (I hope I gave you enough of each!)

Thank you for inviting me to be a part of your day.  It was truly amazing.

xo,
Winona
